Workshop - Making a Limbed Doll
A Limbed doll is usually a 30-40 cm doll made from stretch jersey fabric. It can be dressed and undressed completely, it has shaped hands and feet, the legs bend at the hip so it can sit down and it often has a full head of hair so that can be styled. This doll is suitable for age 3 years and upwards.
As you can probably can tell there is quite a lot of work in these dolls and so the workshop will run over 5 weeks to make sure we have time to master each stage. We want these dolls to last through a lot of play and to be made with love and care.
The cost of the workshop is $85. This includes all materials for the doll - high quality stretch jersey from The Netherlands (you will get a choice of 5 colours), merino wool stuffing, linen thread, embroidery threads and matching cotton sewing threads, a pattern and of course tuition with lots of hints and tips to help you.
The fee does not include wool for the hair or fabric for the clothes but I imagine you may want to have the fun of choosing those for yourself. I will of course be teaching how to make doll hair and I will be providing you with simple patterns to help you make your dolls first wardrobe.
